Things to know inside the cabin...

Audio/Video/TV:  There are 2 flat screen TV’s with dish network satellite reception in the cabin.  We do not provide DVD’s, so please remember to bring your favorite movies along if you don’t like to serve the channels.

Bears: Yes, we do have bears in the neighborhood. Please read all the material in the HMC Handbook upon arrival.  Most Guidelines are written and supplied by the Tahoe Bear League. Please keep the doors and windows on the bottom floor locked and all food out of sight. Also, discard you garbage daily into the bear proof garbage bin at 1489 Christy Lane (next door). Please remember, bears are smart, so please remove the bear bin key from the key hole (hanging on the side of the box) after every use. We do not want to teach our bears how to turn the key to get to the garbage.

Books, Games, Toys:  We do have a small collection of books, children’s books, toys and games in our cabin.  Non the less, please bring your favorite books or games just in case.

Heating:  The Historic Palisades Cabin has been refurbished with hydronic floor heating throughout the entire ski cabin.  We hope you will enjoy the comfort radiant heat around you and the healthy environment it creates.

Garage:  There is a two car garage attached to the Cabin. Please park your car inside the garage during the fall and winter months, so the snow removal services can plow the parking strip in front of the garage and the cabin.

Internet Access:  The HIstoric Palisades Cabin provides complimentary internet access.

Laundry:   A Miele Washer and Dryer are provided.

Mud Room:  The Mud Room at The Historic Palisades Cabin has radiant floor heating and is the ideal place to dry outdoors clothing, wet shoes and ski boots. Outdoors gear is not allowed inside of the cabin for small and grown guests alike.

Ski Gear:  Please store ski gear, (such as skis, ski poles, snow boards, snow shoes and all outdoors sporting equipment) in the garage in order to prevent damage to the cabin.

Wood Stove:  The Historic Palisades Ski Cabin has a high efficiency European wood stove.  Fire wood is provided per each stay.

Things to know outside of the cabin...

For guests arriving late and in the dark:  The outside light fixtures of the cabin entrance work on motion detectors.

Just in case, it might be good to have a flash light handy.

The Palisades cabin is nestled within a very friendly residential neighborhood on a very quiet road.
