Driving directions from the San Francisco International Airport and Oakland International Airport

to Squaw Valley, North Shore Lake Tahoe

From the San Francisco International Airport and Oakland International airport:   From San Francisco, Berkley, or Oakland the drive should be about four hours.  Take interstate 80 northeast straight through Sacramento and into the Sierra Mountains.  Get off on the Truckee Exit onto highway 89 south.  Follow the highway about eight miles to the Squaw Valley Road exit.  Turn right and follow Squaw Valley Road to the Squaw Valley Ski Resort and our Historic Palisades Cabin rental home!

Driving directions from  Sacramento International Airport to Squaw Valley - North Shore Lake Tahoe

From Sacramento International Airport:  The drive should take only about two hours.  Follow interstate 80 northeast and get off at the Truckee Exit onto highway 89 south.  Follow the highway about eight miles to the Squaw Valley Road Exit.  Turn right and follow Squaw Valley Road to the Squaw Valley Ski Resort and our Historic Palisades Cabin rental Home!

Driving directions from Napa Valley and the Wine Country to Squaw Valley - North Shore Lake Tahoe

From Napa Valley Wine Country:  The drive should take about four hours to bring your wine bottles to Tahoe for outdoor fun.  Take highway 29 south out of the Napa Valley.  Past the Napa Bridge take the left hand exit onto Jameson Canyon Road/ CA-12.  Six miles later merge onto I-80E and follow it straight through Sacramento and into the Sierra Mountains.  Get off on the Truckee Exit onto highway 89 south.  Follow the highway about eight miles to the Squaw Valley Road Exit.  Turn right and follow Squaw Valley Road to the Squaw Valley Ski Resort and our Historic Palisades Cabin rental home!

Driving directions from Reno International Airport to Squaw Valley - North Shore Lake Tahoe

It is important to remember that part of the Lake Tahoe shoreline is in Nevada.  For vacation home visitors coming to Squaw Valley from Reno-Tahoe International Airport or from Reno itself your driving directions look like this:   From Reno:  A drive to Squaw Valley should generally take 45 minutes.  Follow Interstate 80 west into California and into Truckee.  Take the highway 89 exit south toward Lake Tahoe/Tahoe City/Squaw Valley.  Follow the highway 8 miles to the Squaw Valley Road exit.  Turn right and follow Squaw Valley road toward the Squaw Valley ski resort and our Historic Palisades Cabin rental home!!

Driving directions from the South Shore Lake Tahoe to Squaw Valley - North Shore Lake Tahoe

For those of you arriving from the South Shore Lake Tahoe area or Heavenly Valley, the drive should take a little over an hour.  There are two routes to consider:  follow the California side of Lake Tahoe by going through Emerald Bay along highway 89 north to Tahoe City, OR, follow the eastern shoreline of Lake Tahoe along highway 28 north in Nevada through Incline Village to Tahoe City.  From Tahoe City, travelers from either alternate route can hop on highway 89 north towards Truckee.  Take the Squaw Valley Road Exit a few miles later.  Turn left at Squaw Valley Road and follow it to the Squaw Valley ski resort and our Historic Palisades Cabin rental home!
